Advanced Placement

AP courses give students the opportunity to take university level courses while still in high school. The courses cover topics in greater depth and detail than regular high school courses. Students will be able to develop skills, such as writing skills, problem solving techniques, and study habits which are expected of university students. Taking AP courses demonstrates maturity, a willingness to push oneself intellectually and a commitment to academic excellence which can help a student stand out in the university admissions process.

Each AP course has a corresponding AP exam that schools worldwide administrator in May. AP exam grades (if sufficiently high) could earn students credit, placement or both at universities in Canada or around the world. For more information on AP courses, contact Student Services.
