Drop by and join us for a new program for good brain health on Monday mornings at the Antigonish Library, for persons with Dementia/Alzheimer's, family, caregivers, friends, and anyone interested in exercising their brain.

We will have fun games and activities to play together, and light refreshments available too!

Please ask about transportation assistance. This program was sponsored by a Seniors' Connect Grant received from CommunityLinks, and the Nova Scotia Department of Seniors and Long Term Care.

Happy Gaelic Awareness Month!

All are welcome to drop by and join us for the book launch of "Na Peataichean a thàinig gu Sràid Phalmerston | The Pets That Came to Palmerston Street" with Laurie Stanley-Blackwell (author), Teresa MacKenzie (illustrator), and Effie Rankin (translator) - at the Pictou Library.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.

About the Book:
This story is about Henry and Abby who want to own a dog. They soon find themselves sharing their home at Palmerston Street with an assortment of pets. The children and their Mom learn that the heart can always expand to make more room for love.

With its beautiful illustrations and sensitive Gaelic translation, this light-hearted story will captivate young readers and young listeners alike. It will also appeal to Gaelic learners who will be able to link via a QR code to a recording of the Gaelic version of this story read by Effie Rankin.

Now available at the Trenton Library!

The Beta Reader Spot is an exchange hub located at the Trenton Library where writers can test out their work on their target audience, and readers can get involved in the development of a book.

Writers leave a manuscript with the library, give us some information about their book, and choose the type of feedback they would like. Beta readers can pick a book by target audience, read the manuscript, and provide feedback for the writer.

Begins November 1st, 2019!

NaNoWriMo is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. We invite you, to "Come Write in!" and drop by the library to find a quiet corner to write, to read, meet up with other authors, research topics, borrow books, print copies, and more!

On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30.Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel.For more information, tips and to register your novel writing project, please visit: www.nanowrimo.org.
